Melodifestivalen 2027: Every Lineup Name Rumored So Far

Melodifestivalen 2027 hasn’t officially announced a single act, yet somehow we already know nearly half the lineup — at least if you believe the Swedish tabloids. Aftonbladet has spent the past two weeks drip-feeding names from its sources inside SVT: a boyband comeback, Eurovision veterans, a dansband straight out of music school, and one of Sweden’s biggest hip-hop stars. Here’s every name reported so far.

Why Melodifestivalen 2027 matters more than usual

Sweden is still stinging from Eurovision 2026. FELICIA’s “My System” won Melodifestivalen, then limped to 20th in the final with 51 points — the country’s worst Eurovision final result since Malena Ernman finished 21st in Moscow in 2009. For a seven-time winner (1974, 1984, 1991, 1999, 2012, 2015, 2023) with a near-perfect semi-final record, 20th felt like a system error. SVT knows 2027 has to restore faith.

The interest is there: SVT received 4,077 song submissions for Melodifestivalen 2027. The contest has run annually since 1959 — skipping only 1964 and 1976 — and judging by the names leaking out, SVT is hedging its bets across generations.

The comebacks: E.M.D., Nanne Grönvall and E-Type

The biggest headline is the reported return of E.M.D. Danny Saucedo, Erik Segerstedt and Mattias Andréasson last stormed Melodifestivalen together in 2009 with “Baby Goodbye”. A reunited E.M.D. would be pure nostalgia for an entire generation of Swedish pop fans.

Then there’s Nanne Grönvall — eight times an artist in the contest, winner in 1996, Eurovision third place in Oslo that year with One More Time and “Den vilda”. A 2027 return would be one of the most veteran appearances of the modern era.

E-Type — Martin Erikson, 61 — would be another blast from the past: fifth in 2004 with “Paradise”, a 2008 miss with The Poodles’ “Line of Fire”, and a reported 2027 entry that would end years away from recording.

The favorites and near-misses: Dotter, Eva Jumatate, Cazzi Opeia

Few names carry more Mello weight than Dotter. Johanna Jansson’s 2020 entry “Bulletproof” finished second — one of the most beloved near-wins in recent memory — and her 2024 ballad “It’s Not Easy to Write a Love Song” went straight to the final. A Dotter return always gets the Eurovision forums buzzing.

Eva Jumatate, 18, would be the youngest returnee. She debuted in Melodifestivalen 2026 with “Selfish”, reached the final qualification round, and has toured Sweden with Diggiloo since. A one-year comeback is unusual — but far from unprecedented in Mello history.

Cazzi Opeia — Moa Carlebecker — may be the most accomplished name in the rumored field. She competed as an artist in 2022 (“I Can’t Get Enough”, ninth in the final) and 2024 (“Give My Heart a Break”, fourth), and has written for the contest six other times. In 2023 she co-wrote Loreen’s “Tattoo”, which won both Melodifestivalen and Eurovision in Liverpool. A third run as a performer would make her an instant favorite.

The newcomers: Joanné Nugas, ENVYYOU, Royz Rollerz, Imenella

The fresh blood might be even more interesting. Joanné Nugas is a theatre actress — lead in Max Martin’s musical &Juliet, Ariel in the 2023 Swedish remake of The Little Mermaid — a stage-trained vocalist making her Mello debut. Rock gets a look-in with ENVYYOU, a Malmö quartet whose “Stick Around” has passed four million streams. Then there’s Royz Rollerz, a young dansband with the most improbable backstory: formed after a songwriting assignment at a folkhögskola, first live show in Örnsköldsvik in May, now one step from Sweden’s biggest TV stage. And the wildest card: Imenella, one of Sweden’s biggest hip-hop artists, a former dancer and choreographer who could own that stage.

Rounding out the reported names: Nomi Tales (debuted in 2025 with “Funniest Thing”), comedian Per Andersson — who hosted Melodifestivalen 2021 — with an entry said to be written by, among others, Edward af Sillén, plus Theo Haraldsson and Maria Sur.

What happens next

None of this is official. SVT confirms nothing until its press conferences, traditionally in late November or early December — and lineups shift.

Still, if most of these names hold, Melodifestivalen 2027 is a genuine event: 90s eurodance royalty, Mello lifers, and debutants from the theatre world and the folkhögskolor. The winner goes to Burgas, Bulgaria, for the Eurovision Song Contest 2027 with one job — erase the memory of 20th place.
