Swedish Pop Storms GTA VI: Robyn and Zara Larsson Join Flash FM

This week, Rockstar Games finally pulled back the curtain on one of the most beloved parts of Grand Theft Auto VI — its in-game radio — and Sweden is everywhere in it. Robyn is stepping behind the DJ booth as co-host of one of the game’s flagship stations, Zara Larsson‘s latest collaboration with PinkPantheress made the playlist, and Stockholm rapper Yung Lean landed a track on the official companion album. For a country of ten million, that’s a remarkable share of the most anticipated video game in history.

Flash FM is back — and it sounds Swedish

On October 8, Rockstar updated the official GTA 6 website with a dedicated music section previewing six radio stations, which the studio describes as the biggest and widest-ranging selection of in-game radio and podcasts the series has ever had. Among them is Flash FM, the fictional pop station first introduced in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, returning with pop hits and easy listening for a new generation.

Co-hosting it: Robyn, alongside American model Alex Consani. The Swedish singer — internationally known for landmark singles like “Dancing on My Own” and “Call Your Girlfriend” — will introduce and comment on songs as one of the station’s radio personalities, a role that in past games has turned guest hosts into in-game icons.

And one of the first confirmed tracks on Flash FM’s playlist is pure Swedish pop royalty: Zara Larsson’s “Midnight Sun (Girls Trip)” with British singer PinkPantheress. The station’s preview playlist also includes Charli XCX’s “Good Ones” and MGMT’s “Electric Feel” — solid company for a song that, per Larsson’s own recent words, she believes in and wants to keep pushing.

Robyn, Zara, and a partnership years in the making

This isn’t a random pairing of Swedish stars. The two artists have been circling each other creatively for a while. Robyn appears on Larsson’s album Midnight Sun: Girls Trip — released in May 2026 — on the track “Puss Puss (Girls Trip)”. The pair also performed together in Copenhagen in July, when Larsson joined one of Robyn’s concerts at the Royal Arena. Now they’re both booked on the same fictional radio station, one hosting, the other spinning.

For Robyn, the gig arrives fresh off her 2026 comeback, with the album Sexistential and an arena tour reintroducing her to a generation that grew up on her records. For Larsson, it’s the latest stop on a relentless run — the Seoul Midnight Sun tour dates, a Singapore F1 performance this past weekend, and now a slot in the game millions will spend hundreds of hours inside.

Yung Lean brings Stockholm to the official album

The Swedish presence doesn’t end at the radio dial. Another Stockholm name is involved: Yung Lean features on the official 34-track Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album with “That’s It”, a collaboration with Future and Metro Boomin’. The album is a separate release from the in-game radio — but with a 34-track lineup stacked with global stars, it’s one more stage where Swedish artists are holding their own.

A radio lineup packed with global stars

Robyn and Larsson are part of a genuinely heavyweight lineup. Also confirmed as station hosts: Bad Bunny and RaiNao on the Latin station Cocoteo FM, Burna Boy and Palms Trax on AfroBank FM, Lana Del Rey alongside Morgan Wallen on Back Country Radio, Slayer’s Kerry King and Tom Araya on metal station The Chamber 106.6, and Trick Daddy and Trina on Dirty South Classics.

Rockstar is also modernizing how players listen. For the first time, characters will be able to tune into radio stations and on-demand podcasts outside vehicles, using headphones and earbuds connected to their characters’ smartphones — so Robyn’s voice could follow players on foot through Vice City, not just behind the wheel.

What it means

GTA radio has always been a cultural tastemaker — it helped cement careers and revive classics for decades. Landing a host slot and a playlist cut on the series’ biggest launch is a stamp of global cultural reach, and Sweden’s pop machine taking two of the marquee spots says plenty about where the world’s pop centre of gravity sits right now.

Grand Theft Auto VI launches November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S — the first new main instalment since GTA V in 2013. Expect Swedish accents all over the airwaves when it does.
